To commemorate the 160th Cornerstone Anniversary, we designed an historical exhibition, Champions of the Cathedral, which opened at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York in 2018 and was on display for well over a year.
The exhibition condenses 160 years of dramatic history into ten graphic panels that profile the archbishops of New York, each of whom defined the Cathedral’s role in response to the historical forces of his day.
Prior to installation at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, the panels were on display temporarily at a rooftop reception at Luciana Barbera showroom, across from the Cathedral. We designed the space combining the panels with photographic blow-ups, enlarged architectural drawings, window treatments and a step-and-repeat panel.
